5-Part Online Introduction to Armenian Aintab Embroidery Course February 2 - March 8

This is a 5-Part Aintab Embroidery Course where we will learn about the techniques used in embroidery from Aintab, in Western Armenia. This course is in the English language. 

The course will take place at your own pace, with a new lesson of between 25 and 45 minutes sent to you every Monday for five weeks between February 2 and March 8. You can watch these videos as much as you like, they will not expire.

You will also receive an invite to join a group call every Sunday at 10 PM Yerevan time to discuss any questions that you may have.

The course schedule is:

Week one: Introduction, satin stitch star and tree of life, jigerdildeh;

Week two: Learning how to cut threads, vosb (lentil) stitch;

Week three: Jermelian stitch, and filleh;

Week four: Spiders and noush (almond);

Week five: Borders and tips and tricks for designing

For the course you will need:

• Evenweave fabric;
• Embroidery hoop;
• Needle;
• Six-stranded cotton threads (I suggest using DMC); and
• Embroidery scissors (regular scissors will not be suitable).
